How to feed ducksthe right way.

Feeding ducks is one of the best parts of a walk by the water. Here’s how to do it so the ducks get a real meal and nothing goes to waste.

A bag of Duck Feeder on a wooden dock at the pond, with mallards swimming up beside it

Three steps.Happy ducks.

  1. A hand tossing a small handful of pellets onto the water toward mallards

    Toss a small handful

Scatter the pellets across the water instead of dropping one pile. The flock spreads out and every duck gets a turn.

  2. Mallards gathered around floating pellets on the pond

    Let it float

Duck Feeder floats for hours, so ducks feed at the surface the way they naturally do, and you can see what’s left.

  3. Two hands zipping the Duck Feeder bag shut

    Zip it shut

When the ducks lose interest, you’re done. Seal the bag and keep it cool and dry for next time.

  • Stop when the ducks are full and drift away.
  • Take your bag and any packaging home with you.

Skip

Feeding pet ducksat home?

Duck Feeder makes a great floating treat for backyard ducks. Toss it into their pond or tub and let them dabble.

Always keep clean, fresh drinking water out for them, and store the bag somewhere cool and dry, away from rodents and insects.
